Q: How to search by publication date in Intelligence and Posts?

Use since-published-at and to-published-at in the Intelligence and Posts search bar to filter by a rolling publication-date window (months, days, hours or minutes).

1. Where it works#

Type the operators in the search bar of Intelligence (Organic and Social listening, Leaderboard) and of the Posts tab. In Intelligence, start typing since or to: autocomplete suggests since-published-at: and to-published-at:, then ready-made offsets (-2d, -48h, -30m, -1mo…) with the meaning of each unit. Use the arrow keys and Enter (or a click) to insert a suggestion; Escape closes the list (then Enter searches the word as typed). Inserting a suggestion never starts the search — press Enter again or click the magnifier.

The Account finder has no publication date: it applies the rest of your search and ignores these two operators.

2. What the operators mean#

Use one or both. With a single operator, the other side stays open: since-published-at:-6h returns everything published in the last 6 hours, with no upper limit; to-published-at:-1d returns everything published more than 1 day ago. Items without a publication date are never returned.

3. Units#

The value is always a negative whole number from -1 to -9999 followed by one unit. Combined values such as -1mo2d are not supported.

4. Examples (copy and paste)#

The 24 hours ending 24 hours ago: since-published-at:-2d AND to-published-at:-1d — identical to since-published-at:-48h AND to-published-at:-24h.
Between 90 and 30 minutes ago: since-published-at:-90m AND to-published-at:-30m
Between 2 months and 1 month ago: since-published-at:-2mo AND to-published-at:-1mo
The last 6 hours: since-published-at:-6h
With a keyword: election since-published-at:-2d AND to-published-at:-1d
With several alternatives: (election OR municipales) AND since-published-at:-2d AND to-published-at:-1d
With a field: title:"election" AND since-published-at:-2d AND to-published-at:-1d

The date operators always apply to the whole search. Combine them with AND (or a simple space), outside parentheses and never after NOT. If your search contains OR, put the alternatives in parentheses, as in the example above.

5. Rolling time, not calendar days#

The window is computed from the exact moment the search runs. At 12:24, since-published-at:-2d AND to-published-at:-1d covers the day before yesterday 12:24 → yesterday 12:24; at 13:24 both bounds have moved by one hour. This is different from "Yesterday" in the Publication menu, which is the calendar day (midnight to midnight).

d, h and m are exact durations: a day is always 24 hours, even when the clocks change.
mo counts calendar months in the Europe/Paris time zone and keeps the time of day. When the target month is shorter, the last day of that month is used: on 31 March, -1mo means 28 February (29 in a leap year) at the same time.
Daylight saving time (for mo only): a time that does not exist when clocks go forward (for example 02:30 on the last Sunday of March) moves to 03:30; a time that happens twice when clocks go back uses its first occurrence (summer time).

When your search contains since-published-at or to-published-at, the search defines the publication dates: the Publication menu (Intelligence) and the date menu (Posts) show "Set by search" with your constraints, and the usual choice — including the default "last 2 hours" — is not applied. Remove the operators from the search to use the menu again: your previous choice comes back.

In the Posts calendar, each day, week or month still shows its own period, limited to the posts inside your constraints.

The "Since the beginning" counters/graph period is a separate setting and is not affected.

7. Saved themes, refreshes and bots#

The expression is saved as you typed it, never as frozen dates. It is recalculated on every search, every manual refresh, every automatic refresh (only when you have switched it on — it is never switched on for you), every page of results, every time you reopen a saved theme, and every time a bot runs that theme.

8. Error messages#

Message	How to fix it
Unknown unit	Use `mo`, `d`, `h` or `m`: `-2w` → `-14d`, `-1y` → `-12mo`.
Invalid publication-date offset	Write a minus sign, a whole number from 1 to 9999 and a unit, with no quotes: `-2d`, not `2d`, `"-2d"` or `-2.5d`.
This publication-date bound is already set	Keep a single `since-published-at` and a single `to-published-at`.
`since-published-at` must be further back in time	The "since" offset must be larger than the "to" offset: `since-published-at:-2d AND to-published-at:-1d`, not the reverse.
Publication-date constraints apply to the whole search	Take the operator out of parentheses, remove NOT (or `-`) in front of it, and put OR alternatives in parentheses.

The search is not run while an error is shown, so you never get results that silently ignore your dates.
