This setup is for an administrator of a YouTube Studio Content Manager (CMS) and its Content Owner. It concerns claims on videos published to channels linked to that Content Owner. It does not enroll a channel in the YouTube Partner Program or grant eligibility for Content ID or monetization.

If a published video is not claimed or monetized automatically, the CMS setup is one possible cause. Check the video and Content Owner state before changing the connection.
1. Set up the Content Owner#
- In Nonli, open the YouTube connection window. Under Are you a YouTube Content Manager (CMS) administrator?, expand See the setup steps and copy the Nonli service account shown there. In YouTube Studio Content Manager, select the intended Content Owner, then open Settings → Users (called Settings → Permissions in YouTube's current help). Use the address currently displayed in Nonli rather than an address saved from an older guide.
- Create a custom role with Video manager, Content ID rights management, and Content delivery enabled. Leave Read only and No bulk actions on content unchecked. Check the displayed permissions and save the role. Then invite the Nonli service account from step 1 to this Content Owner and assign the new role during the invitation. YouTube explains how to create and assign custom roles.
- Confirm that the Google account you will use to connect YouTube in Nonli is also a user of that same Content Owner. Being a CMS administrator on its own is not enough for this connection flow.
2. Connect the channels in Nonli#
- Connect YouTube using that administrator Google account. On Google's account chooser, select the Google account, not a channel-named Brand Account entry. When Nonli retrieves the channel list, select the channels you intend to add. Selecting a channel that is already connected replaces its previous Nonli connection.
- Publish a suitable test video to one selected channel. In YouTube Studio Content Manager, inspect the video under the correct Content Owner and verify its claim, upload policy, and monetization state. YouTube distinguishes claims and upload policies from Content ID matches against other people's uploads. The connection alone does not guarantee a claim or revenue. If the expected state is missing, contact your Content Owner administrator and Nonli support with the Content Owner ID, video ID, and the specific missing claim or monetization state.
3. If the result is not what you expected#
