French News Media Instagram Account Ranking: September 2026

Every month, Nonli's social listening measures the views generated by videos and Reels on the Instagram accounts of France's main news media. Here is the September 2026 TOP 40.

Brut. stays on top and multiplies its views by 2.4 compared with August. HugoDécrypte takes 2nd place for the first time, and M6 Info enters the top 10 with a record. The TOP 40 totals 2.66 billion views, 31% more than in August.

1. The Month's Top 5#

Brut. holds first place with 739.3 million views from 423 posts, its third-best total on the series. HugoDécrypte gains one spot and moves up to 2nd for the first time, at 256.3 million from only 155 posts. TF1 INFO completes the podium with 235.1 million and the top 5's best ratio, 55.0%.

RTL gains five spots and climbs back to 4th place with 123.1 million views (+67%), its record, at the quintet's highest cadence (473 posts). L'Équipe holds 5th place at 119.6 million (+20%).

How to read the "Views per follower" column: 100% means an average post earns as many views as the page has followers. It's a good proxy for an account's ability to reach beyond its own community.

3. What Stands Out#

M6 Info more than doubles its views (+150%) and gains eight spots: 6th with 118.1 million, its record and best rank, for a 76.4% ratio. BFM gains one spot (7th, +21%).

Le Figaro doubles its views (20th, +104%) and sets its record, as do Europe 1 (25th, +146%) and Dernières Nouvelles d'Alsace (28th, +34%). RFI gains four spots (36th, +162%) and sets its record too.

The table's best ratio goes to Futura, 212.9% of its community in views per post (19th, its record and best rank), ahead of Var-Matin (132.7%). Numerama (33rd, 105.5%) and L'Indépendant (39th) enter the ranking, and Nice-Matin returns to the TOP 40.

4. Methodology#

The data comes from Nonli's social listening, which continuously tracks the public Instagram accounts of French news media. Only one account per media brand is counted: its main account, without aggregating local or topical accounts. The ranking covers views on videos and Reels published between September 1 and 30, 2026, read through the Nonli API. Since views keep accruing after publication, small differences with later readings are normal. Follower counts are those observed when the ranking was generated.
