Every month, Nonli's social listening measures the views generated by videos and Reels on the Instagram accounts of France's main news media. Here is the May 2026 TOP 40.
There are good months, and there is May 2026 for Brut.: 1.12 billion views. The billion crossed in a single month, a first on this series, and a volume larger than the other 39 accounts of the ranking combined.
1. The Month's Top 5#
Brut. passed the billion mark (+79% in one month) from 481 posts. TF1 INFO consolidated 2nd place at 268.4 million, pushing its efficiency to 95.4%: each post earns nearly its entire community size in views. Le Parisien climbed onto the podium (113.4M).
L'Équipe continued its exceptional May on Instagram too: 110.4 million views (+37%), three spots gained, 4th place. RTL closed the top 5 at 105.8 million with 491 posts, the cadence record of the table.

3. What Stands Out#
Brut.'s billion changes the scale of the ranking: the account alone accounts for more than half the views of the entire TOP 40. Its recipe stays the same, volume (481 posts) and a 40.6% efficiency, far above the standards of a 5.6-million-follower account.
Behind it, consistency pays: Le Parisien and L'Équipe progressed together, and La Provence gained another four spots (15th) with +54% views.
Var-Matin posted the national ratio of the month: 226%, each Reel reaching more than twice its community. actu.fr (140%) and LCI (138%) stayed above 100%.
4. Methodology#
The data comes from Nonli's social listening, which continuously tracks the public Instagram accounts of French news media. The ranking covers views on videos and Reels published between May 1 and 31, 2026, read through the Nonli API. Since views keep accruing after publication, small differences with later readings are normal. Follower counts are those observed when the ranking was generated.
